The book offers a mathematical and computational approach to the optimization methods of decision-making based on the cost benefit analysis. Both, cost and social benefit, are considered to be vague and treated by means of fuzzy set theoretical tools. The book combines methodological discussions, solution algorithms, a mathematically formalized study of concepts, and illustrative examples regarded to the topics in the title. The text is divided into six chapters devoted to the heuristic discussion of relationships among decision, cost and benefit, analysis of the logical structure of the theory, presentation of the fuzzy-decision theory and social costing, the fuzzy-decision theory of benefit accounting, summary of essential mathematics used in the model, and basic theory of fuzzy decisions being in the background of the previous chapters. The book is completed by very rich (1277 items) references.
