The author generalizes the iteration theory of rational functions of one complex variable. The two fundamental theorems on Fatou sets for complex dynamical systems of degree greater than 1 on complex projective spaces are proved: Fatou sets are pseudoconvex, hence Stein, and Fatou sets are Carathéodory hyperbolic, hence Kobayashi hyperbolic. The author's approach is based on the fact that for a holomorphic map \(f: \mathbb{P}^n\to \mathbb{P}^n\) there exists a homogeneous map \(F: \mathbb{C}^{n+1}\to \mathbb{C}^{n+1}\) such that \(\pi\circ F= f\circ \pi\), where the projection \(\pi: \mathbb{C}^{n+1} \setminus \{0\}\to \mathbb{P}^n\). For such map \(F\), the set \({\mathfrak A}= \{x\in \mathbb{C}^{n+1}\); \(F^j (x)\to 0\) as \(j\to \infty\}\) is the basin of attraction of the origin \(O\) and we set \(\rho (x)= \sup\{ a>0\); \(ax\in {\mathfrak A}\}\) and \(h(x)=- \log \rho (x)\). The function \(h\) is said to be the Green function for the homogeneous map \(F\). Then a point \(p\in \mathbb{P}^n\) is in the Fatou set of \(f\) iff \(h\) is pluriharmonic in a neighborhood of the fiber \(\pi^{-1} (p)\). Further the connections between critical points and Fatou sets are studied using the Siegel domains. The paper is well written and organized.
