    The authors study the asymptotic and oscillatory behaviour of solutions of the second-order difference equations \(\Delta (a_ n \Delta y_ n) + p_ n \Delta y_ n + q_ n f(y_{\sigma (n + 1)}) = 0\), \(n \in \mathbb{N}\) and \(\Delta y_ n \equiv y_{n + 1} - y_ n\). Several theorems are given which examine the conditions for existence of solutions of the above difference equation. The theorems are illustrated by means of examples.
