The paper considers the mappings \(F\) from the set \({\mathcal X}\) of the sequences of digits (from \(\{1,2, \ldots\), \(K\}\), \(K\) positive integer) into \([0,1]\). It is shown that the only nondecreasing mapping \(F\) which transforms a random variable \(X \in{\mathcal X}\) uniformly (on \([0,1]\) distributed random variable \({\mathcal I}\), i.e. \({\mathcal I} = F(X))\), is the distribution function of the r.v. \(X\). An application of the result for the Markov chains is also given.
