Lower bounds for the abscissa of the stability of Schur stable matrices (Q1892276)

Linear discrete systems motivate this paper. Schur stability of polynomials and matrices are defined. Lower bounds for the abscissa of stability of Schur stable polynomials are well-known. Here, the eigenvalues of Schur stable matrices are estimated. The bounds are functions of the entries of the matrices. In two simple examples with \(2\times 2\)-matrices, the lower bounds are compared with the exact eigenvalues.
