Let \(\Omega\) be an open simply connected subset of \(\mathbb{R}^2\) and \(\delta (x)\) denote the Euclidean distance from \(x\) to \(\partial \Omega\). A hyperbolic singular integral operator is an operator of the form \[ Tf(x)= \int_\Omega K(x,y) f(y) {{dy} \over {\delta (y)^2}}, \] for \(x\in \text{supp } f\) and \(f\in C_0^\eta (\Omega)\), where the kernel \(K(x, y)\) satisfies standard estimates like the usual Calderón- Zygmund kernels but with respect to the hyperbolic metric. The author obtains necessary and sufficient conditions for such operators to extend to bounded operators in \(L^2 (\Omega, dx/ \delta (x)^2)\).
