\(\Gamma\)-convergence, minimizing movements and generalized mean curvature evolution (Q1894158)

This paper shows that viscosity solutions to curvature evolution equations may be obtained as limits of minimizers for \(\Gamma\)-limits of inhomogeneous anisotropic singular perturbations for certain nonconvex variational problems. The Euler-Lagrange equation satisfied by each of the minimizers is derived. The approach is a combination of the ``level- set'' and ``distance function'' approaches.
