Multiplicities of blowups of homogeneous quadratic sequences (Q1895636)

The purpose of this paper is to compute the multiplicities of the blow-up rings (the Rees ring, the associated graded ring and the extended Rees ring) of an ideal generated by a homogeneous quadratic sequence in an affine graded algebra over a field. Quadratic sequences were introduced and studied by \textit{K. Raghavan} following C. Huneke's definition of a weak \(d\)-sequence. The authors generalize the results of \textit{J. Herzog}, \textit{Ngô Viêt Trung} and \textit{B. Ulrich} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 80, No. 3, 273-297 (1992; Zbl 0778.13001)]. The authors present many applications, especially to straightening closed ideals in graded algebras with straightening law.
