In [Invent. Math. 53, 165-184 (1979; Zbl 0499.20035)], \textit{D. Kazhdan} and \textit{G. Lusztig} introduced the concepts of certain equivalence classes, called two-sided cells, left cells and right cells of arbitrary Coxeter groups \(W\). These cells of \(W\) play an important role in the representation theory of the Coxeter group and of its associated Hecke algebra. In this paper, the author describes the left cells in a two- sided cell \(\Omega\) with \(a(\Omega) =3\) in any irreducible affine Weyl group, where the function \(a : W \to N\) on \(W\) is defined by \textit{G. Lusztig} [in Adv. Stud. Pure Math. 6, 255-287 (1985; Zbl 0569.20032)]. He proves that this function has constant value on a two-sided cell of \(W\).
