The author investigates general properties of connections compatible with a metric and exemplifies them to statistical manifolds. Especially, for statistical manifolds he shows: 1. Each Amari-Chentsov \(\alpha\)-connection is compatible with Fisher's metric \(g\). 2. Each \(\alpha\)-connection is conjugate to the minus \(\alpha\)-connection with respect to the tensor \(g\). 3. The deformation tensor of an \(\alpha\)-connection of constant curvature is a Codazzi tensor with respect to the 0-connection.
