According to a now classical result of Sarason the space \(H^\infty(T)+ C(T)\) is a closed uniform subalgebra of \(L^\infty(T)\) on the unit circle \(T\). The present author proves an analogous result in a generalized analytic settting. Let \(\Gamma\) be an additive subgroup of \(\mathbb{Q}\) that is equipped by the discrete topology and let \(G\) denote its (compact) dual group. It is shown that the space \(H^\infty(G)+ C(G)\) is a closed uniform subalgebra of \(L^\infty(G)\) with respect to the Haar measure on \(G\). The result has interesting interpretations for analytic almost periodic functions on \(\mathbb{R}\). For the related algebra \(H^\infty_G\) of hyper-analytic functions on \(G\) the same result was proved previously by D. Stankov [e.g. the reviewer, Big planes, boundaries and function algebras (1992; Zbl 0755.46020)].
