Let \((M,g)\) be a smooth Riemannian manifold, \({\mathfrak X} (M)\) the space of smooth vector fields on \(M\) and \(\nabla\) the Levi-Civita connection associated to \(g\). Any \(a \in {\mathfrak X}(M)\) defines the smooth tensor field \(F = L_a - \nabla_a\) of type (1,1) on \(M\), where \(L_a\) denotes the Lie derivative with respect to \(a\), and the smooth differential 1-form \(\omega\) given by \(\omega(X) = g(X,a)\), \(X \in {\mathfrak X}(M)\). Assume that \(\omega\) is closed and \(\text{det} (F_p) \neq 0\) for any \(p \in M\). Then \(\overline {g}\) defined by \(\overline {g} (X,Y) = g(FX,Y)\), \(X, Y \in {\mathfrak X}(M)\), is a Riemannian metric on \(M\). Let \(\overline {\nabla}\) be the Levi-Civita connection associated to \(\overline{g}\) and \(\nabla^F\) the connection given by \(\nabla^F_X Y = F^{-1} \nabla_X FY\), \(X,Y \in {\mathfrak X} (M)\). In this paper, some properties of the connections \(\overline {\nabla}\) and \({1\over 2}(\nabla + \nabla^F)\) are established. For example, \(\overline {\nabla} = \nabla\) if and only if \((\nabla^F_X) (Y) = R(a,X)Y\), \(X,Y \in {\mathfrak X} (M)\), where \(R\) is the curvature of \(\nabla\).
