    Let \(Y\) and \(Y_n\), \(n\in \mathbb{N}\), be independent identically distributed symmetric random elements in a Banach space \(\mathbb{B}\). Let \(C^p (Y, \mathbb{B})\) with \(0< p< \infty\) (resp. \(C(Y, \mathbb{B})\)) be the space of sequences \((\alpha_i)\), \(\alpha_i\in \mathbb{R}\), such that the series \(\sum^\infty_{i=1} \alpha_i Y_i\) is convergent with respect to the quasinorm \(|Y|_p= (E|Y|^p )^{1/p}\) (resp. a.e. in \(\mathbb{B}\)). It is stated that for \(0< p< 2\), \(\mathbb{B}\) is of stable type \(p\), if and only if, for any Orlicz function \(G\) satisfying the condition \(\varlimsup_{x\to 0} G(\alpha x)/ G(x)= O(\alpha^p)\) as \(\alpha\to \infty\), the relation \(C(Y, \mathbb{B})= \ell^G\) is equivalent to the inequality \(C_1 G(x^{-1})\leq P(|Y|> x)\leq C_2 G(x^{-1})\), \(x> x_0\), with some \(C_1, C_2, x_0> 0\). It is also stated that \(\mathbb{B}\) is of Rademacher type \(p\), if and only if, \(C^p (L^p, \{\mathbb{B} \})= \ell^p\). No proofs are given.
