The two-component spinor formalism is combined with Cartan's differential forms method. The Rarita-Schwinger equations for \(\text{spin-} {3\over 2}\)-fields are treated in this way, including the Lagrangian approach and a relation to some almost complex structure. The alternative proposal of \textit{R. Illge} [Commun. Math. Phys. 158, No. 3, 433-457 (1993; Zbl 0789.53041)]\ should have been mentioned for the sake of completeness.
