Initial-boundary value problems for the system \((1- \chi\nabla^2) v_t= \nu\nabla^2 v- (v\cdot \nabla)v- \nabla p+ g\), \(\nabla\cdot v= 0\), where \(\nu\) and \(\chi\) denote viscosity and relaxation viscosity, respectively, have been studied in various aspects, but in all the aspects the following phenomenological paradox is being ignored: whether a viscous incompressible liquid can simultaneously be elastic? The present article is devoted to solve this paradox. It is found that the above model of an incompressible viscous-elastic liquid furnishes a ``good approximation'' of a model of a weak-compressible viscous-elastic liquid: \((1- \chi\nabla^2) v_t= \nu \nabla^2 v- (v\cdot \nabla) v- \nabla p+ g\), \(\varepsilon p_t+ \nabla\cdot v= 0\), where \(\varepsilon\neq 0\) is ``small'', which is obtained as the corresponding model for the Newton liquid.
