Consider the implicit differential equation (*) \(F(x,x') = 0\) near an equilibrium point \(x_0 \in R^n\), i.e. \(F(x_0,0) = 0\) under the assumptions: rank \(F_x (x_0,0) = n\), \(\text{rank} F_p (x,p) = \text{const}\) in a neighbourhood of \((x_0,0)\) in \(F^{-1} (0)\). The author studies the class of equations (*) which are regular near \((x_0,0)\), which means that there exists a unique vector field such that the solutions of the vector field and of (*) are in a one-to-one correspondence near \(x_0\). By this way, the author is able to carry over local qualitative properties of vector fields to the considered class of equations (*), especially the linearization principle, the existence of stable and unstable manifolds. He also formulates a theorem about Hopf bifurcation of (*) from \(x_0\). All introduced concepts and obtained results are illustrated by examples.
