This paper considers the case of time-reversible, equivariant vectorfields which undergo resonance at some value of a bifurcation parameter. The existence of normal modes in the resonant \(1 : N\) cases is shown. The spatial symmetries studied in the paper include the usual compact Lie groups. The method used is a combination of the loop- space/symmetry-restriction/Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction approach of \textit{S. A. van Gils} and \textit{M. Golubitsky} [J. Dyn. Differ. Equations 2, 133- 162 (1990; Zbl 0695.34041)] with the singularity theory techniques of \textit{M. B. Sevryuk} [Reversible systems. Lecture Notes in Mathematics, 1211. Berlin (1986; Zbl 0661.58002)]. An application of the main theorem to a family of time-reversible, \(D_n \times O(2)\)-symmetric homogeneous vector fields which includes the Stokeslet model from sedimentation theory is given.
