An arbitrary oriented Riemannian manifold of real dimension two is a complex manifold that is also the world sheet of an oriented closed string. Another example is the complex Grassmann manifold of \(p\)-planes in \(\mathbb{C}^{2p}\). In this paper it is shown that the second manifold carries ``the most symmetric'' state of \(^9 \text{Li} (\text{Lithium}-9)\). In both cases one deals with a chiral spior field on a curved surface. Specifically, a distorted torus on a Kähler manifold which is also a Calabi-Yau space is found.
