For an odd prime \(p\) let \(l\) denote the Adams summand of \(p\)-local connective \(K\)-theory and \({\mathcal A} (1)\) the subalgebra of the mod \(p\) Steenrod algebra generated by \(Q_0\) and the first Steenrod power \({\mathcal P}^1\). The main result of the paper is a description of the \({\mathcal A} (1)\)-module structure of the mod \(p\) homology \(H_* (l)\) as a sum of tensor products of explicitly known \({\mathcal A} (1)\)-modules and the determination of the indecomposable \({\mathcal A} (1)\)-modules which appear in \(H_* (l)\).
