On the base of a refined model corresponding to actual energy-scattering characteristics, a method for constructing biharmonic oscillation regimes of a flexible rotor is suggested. The example of two-frequency oscillation with one-mode approximation of dynamic displacements is considered. The investigated model is the rotor consisting of an unbalanced axle of variable cross section supported at two points, and a heavy disk at its middle-point. The Bubnov-Galerkin method is used; as a result, a system of two ordinary differential equations is obtained. The existence of two self-oscillatory regimes is shown: the first one corresponds to purely induced rotor oscillations, and the second -- to steady biharmonic oscillations. The stability conditions for these two regimes are obtained.
