Structural properties of large-scale systems possessing similar structures (Q1899581)

This paper is concerned with the analysis of some structural properties of a class of large-scale dynamical systems composed of several subsystems with similar structure and an external system. Under some assumptions on the interconnections, it is shown that some important qualitative properties (such as connectability, structural controllability and observability, and structurally fixed modes determination) of such a large-scale system can be determined from the corresponding properties of the partly decoupled system of modified subsystem corresponding to the system. The results simplify considerably the analysis of the structural properties of the class of large-scale systems.
