A convex hull construction in Minkowski space defines a canonical cell decomposition of a cusped hyperbolic \(n\)-manifold [see \textit{D. B. A. Epstein} and \textit{R. C. Penner}, J. Differ. Geom. 27, No. 1, 67-80 (1988; Zbl 0611.53036), and the article by the second author in Topology Appl. 52, No. 2, 127-149 (1993; Zbl 0808.57005)]. An algorithm for computing the canonical cell decomposition uses the idea of the tilt of an \(n\)- simplex relative to each of its \((n - 1)\)-dimensional faces. A formula for the tilt was given in the second article quoted above, but the proof of it is rather complicated, and is restricted to the cases \(n \leq 3\). In the present paper the authors give a simplified proof which applies in all dimensions.
