The purpose of the present note is to show that the Dirichlet integral may be extended to the case where the argument of the function \(f\) has a desired form; portion of the note is also devoted to illustrate that the result found reduces to that of Dirichlet. The concept employed in the derivation is the one that is extracted from generating functions. To establish the result the authors have found the generalized derivatives as an appropriate tool, and more particularly, the Weyl fractional integral and some of its properties. Interestingly the notations, used by the authors, although differ from usual forms of fractional calculus, have adequate relevance and abridged form. The text is comprehensive and the presentation is appreciable.
