The author deals with two-homogeneous polynomials on \(\mathbb{R}^n\). The unit ball of the norm on \(\mathbb{R}^n\) is an intersection of two ellipsoids. It is proved that every two-homogeneous polynomial defined on a subspace of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) admits an extension on \(\mathbb{R}^n\) preserving the norm \((|P|:= \sup\{|P(x)|\): \(|x|\leq 1\}\) for \(P\in{\mathcal P}^2(\mathbb{R}^n))\). The basic idea of the proof is the following one. If \(|P(x)|\leq|x|^2\) for all \(x\in\mathbb{R}^n\) then there are inner products \(\Pi_1\) and \(\Pi_2\) on \(\mathbb{R}^n\) with \(-\Pi_1(x,x)\leq P(x)\leq \Pi_2(x,x)\) for all \(x\in\mathbb{R}^n\).
