For a field \(k\) with Galois extension \(K\) let \(A\) be a Noetherian \(k\)-algebra and \(B = K \otimes_k A\). The Galois group of \(K\) over \(k\) acts on a finite direct sum of some modules of generalized fractions of \(B\) in a natural way. The fixed submodule of the action is a module of generalized fractions of \(A\). Injective envelopes of some modules or the indecomposable injective modules over a Gorenstein ring are described in terms of modules of generalized fractions. A strongly related paper is the following: \textit{Yeong Moo Song}, ``Generalized fractions, Galois theory and injective envelopes of simple modules over polynomials rings'' [J. Korean. Math. Soc. 32, No. 2, 265-277 (1995; see the following review)].
