This paper deals with the localizations of non-hypoelliptic operators with constant coefficients. More precisely, the limit of the ratio \(P(\xi+ \eta)/\widetilde P(\eta)\) as \(|\eta|\to \infty\) is studied. The symbol \(\widetilde P(\eta)\) stands for the Hörmander's function of the differential operator \(P(\infty)\). For hypoelliptic operators this limit is a zero order polynomial while for non-hypoelliptic polynomials the same degree can be a polynomial of positive degree. Such polynomials are called localizations of the operator \(P(\infty)\) at infinity. For a class of operators the maximal degree of the localizations is found. The set of localizations is studied, as well.
