In a previous paper [`Scott Brown's techniques\dots', to appear in Integral Equations Oper. Theory], the author and \textit{M. Radjabalipour} showed that if \(T\) is any (bounded linear) operator on a Banach space \(X\) satisfying conditions (1), (2) and (3) below: (1) There exist a Banach space \(Z\), an operator \(B\in {\mathcal L}(Z)\) and a surjective map \(q\in {\mathcal L}(Z, X^*)\) such that \(qB= T^* q\). (2) Either \(B- \lambda\) or \((B- \lambda)|\text{Ker } q\) has a dense range for all \(\lambda\in \sigma_c(T^*)\), and \(\sigma_c(T^*)\) is dominating in some nonempty open set \(G\) in \(\mathbb{C}\). (3) There exist a sequence \(\{G(n)\}_{n\geq 1}\) of open sets in \(\mathbb{C}\) and a sequence \(\{M(n)\}_{n\geq 1}\) of invariant subspaces of \(B\) such that \(\overline G(n)\subset G(n+ 1)\), \(G= \bigcup_{1\leq n< \infty} G(n)\), and \(\sigma(B|M(n))\subset \overline G(n)\), \(\sigma(B/M(n))\subset \mathbb{C}\backslash G(n)\), \(n= 1, 2,\dots\). (Here \(B/M(n)\) denotes the operator induced by \(B\) on \(Z/M(n)\).) then \(T\) has a nontrivial invariant subspace. In the present paper, we shall obtain a natural representation for the operator algebra \(\text{AlgLat } T\), and as an application we shall give sufficient conditions for the reflexivity of \(T\).
