In [Acta Math. 148, 47-157 (1982; Zbl 0584.53021)]\ \textit{R. Harvey} and \textit{H. B. Lawson} proved that \(\text{Re }dz\) \((dz= dz_1\wedge \dots \wedge dz_n)\) is a calibration on \(\mathbb{C}^n= \mathbb{R}^{2n}\), where \(z= (z_1, \dots, z_n)\) are the complex coordinates on \(\mathbb{C}^n\). Let \(P\) be an \(n\)-dimensional oriented plane \(\mathbb{R}^{2n}\) with oriented orthonormal basis \(\{e_1, \dots, e_n\}\). Then \(\zeta_P= e_1\wedge \dots\wedge e_n\) does not depend on the choice of the basis. The \(n\)-plane \(P\) is called special Lagrangian if \(\text{Re } dz(\zeta_P)=1\). An \(n\)-dimensional oriented submanifold \(M\) of \(\mathbb{C}^n\) is called special Lagrangian if each of its oriented tangent spaces is special Lagrangian. An \((n-1)\)-dimensional submanifold \(N\) of \(\mathbb{C}^n\) is said to satisfy the moment condition if for any smooth \(n-1\) form \(\varphi\) with \(d\varphi\in {\mathcal I}\), we have \(\int_N \varphi=0\), where \({\mathcal I}\) is the differential ideal generated by \(\text{Im } dz\) and the standard Kähler form \(\omega\) on \(\mathbb{C}^n\). The author obtains necessary conditions on the boundary of a special Lagrangian submanifold which do not come from the moment condition. Moreover, the author constructs certain submanifolds to show that the moment condition is not enough for a rectifiable current to bound a special Lagrangian rectifiable current. The latter result answers a question asked by \textit{R. L. Bryant} and \textit{P. A. Griffiths} in [J. Am. Math. Soc. 8, No. 3, 507-596 (1995)].
