The main result of the paper reads as follows. Let \(F : \mathbb{C} \to \mathbb{C}\) be a rational function. If the Julia set \(J(F)\) is a Jordan curve then \(J(F)\) is a ``circle/line'' or the Hausdorff dimension of \(J(F)\) is greater than 1.
