This paper deals with the numerical solution of ordinary differential equations \(y' = f(t,y)\), \(t \in [t_0, t_1]\), subject to initial conditions \(y(t_0) = y_0\). Boundary value methods (BVMs) based on \(k\)-step Adams-type methods for the solution of initial value problems are used. BVMs lead to a discrete boundary value problem which needs one initial and \(k - 1\) final conditions. The authors analyze BVMs based on \(k\)-step Adams-type methods, called reverse Adams methods, which are BV-\(A\)-stable for orders less than 4 and BV-\(A_0\)-stable for orders up to 9. The relations with the classical Adams methods are also treated. Some numerical experiments are reported to point out the theoretical results.
