    The global existence of the solution to the initial boundary problem for the Boltzmann equation in a bounded convex domain \(G\) \[ \begin{aligned} {\partial f \over \partial t} + \left( v, {\partial f \over \partial x} \right) & = I(f,f),\;(t,x,v) \in (0,T] \times G \times \mathbb{R}^v_3, \tag{1} \\ f(t,x,v) |_{t = 0} & = f^0(x,v),\;(x,v) \in G \times \mathbb{R}^v_3, \tag{2} \\ f(t,x_{\partial G}, v) & = g (t, x_{\partial G}, v), \;(v,n_{\partial G}) < 0, \tag{3} \end{aligned} \] is studied. In (1)--(3) \(f\) is the spatial distribution of the particles depending on time \(t\) and speed \(v\), \(n\) is the unit outward normal to the boundary of \(G\), \(\partial G\), \(f^0 (x,v)\), \(g (t,x_{\partial G}, v)\) are given functions, \((\cdot, \cdot)\) is the scalar product, \(I\) is the collision integral. Under suitable assumptions on \(f^0\) and \(g\) the existence of a global solution of (1)--(3) in the space \(C([0,T]; L^1 (G \times \mathbb{R}^v_3))\), \(\forall T < \infty\) is proved. The question of uniqueness remains open.
