    Assume that the integral operator \[ (K \varphi) (v) = \int^\infty_0 k(uv) \varphi (u) du,\;v > 0, \] has a known inverse \(K^{-1}\). The following result is established: If \(m(x)\) is related to \(k(x)\) as \[ m(x) = \sum^\infty_{n = 1} f(n) k(nx) \] for some arithmetical function \(f : \mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{C}\) with \(f(1) = 0\), then the integral equation \[ \int^\infty_0 m(uv) \varphi (u) du = \psi (v) \] has a solution \(\varphi (u) = \sum^\infty_{n = 1} h(n) \theta (u/n)\) where \(\theta (u) = (K^{-1} \psi) (u)\) and \(h\) is the Dirichlet inverse of the arithmetical function \(f(n)/n\). Examples are given.
