The authors depict two nonoscillatory characterizations of solutions of the equation: \[ [p(t) |y' |^{\alpha - 1} y']' + q(t) |y |^{\alpha - 1} y = 0, \qquad \alpha > 0, \] and further obtain some sufficient conditions for all solutions to be oscillatory (nonoscillatory).
