On the microdynamics of composite plates (Q1904947)

The authors study the dynamic behavior of an elastic composite plate with microperiodic structure along its midsurface. This is the plate, for example, which is periodically reinforced or of periodically varying thickness. In the authors' refined theory, the length parameter corresponding to the microperiodic structure appears in the basic equation. The theory is applied to the analysis of a cylindrical bending vibration of a rectangular plate, which has a periodic structure in the direction of its generatrix. The results are compared to those given by application of the effective stiffness theory.
