Let \(A\) be an \(m\times m\) completely positive matrix and \(B^m_p\) be the unit \(l^m_p\) ball. It is known that for \(1<q\leq p<\infty\) the Kolmogorov width \(d_n(A^m_p,l^m_q)\) coincides with the lower \(n\)-spectrum. This is the minimal \(\lambda_n>0\) for which the nonlinear system \[ A^T(Ax)_{(q)}=\lambda^q(x)_{(p)}\Leftrightarrow\sum^n_{i=1} a_{ik}\Bigl|\sum^m_{j=1} a_{ij} x_j\Bigr|\text{sgn}\Bigl(\sum^m_{j=1}a_{ij}x_j\Bigr)=\lambda^q|x_k|^{p-1} \] has a solution \(x\) with \(n\) sign changes in its coordinates. The condition \(p\geq q\) is necessary in order that the equality \(d_n(AB^m_p,l^m_q)=\lambda_n\) is fulfilled. The paper contains the following theorem which gives a sufficient condition for this equality. Theorem. Let \(1<p,q<\infty\). Let \(A\) be a complete positive matrix. Let \(x^{(n)}\) and \(Ax^{(n)}\) have exactly \(n\) zero coordinates at indices \(\{i_1,\dots,i_n\}\) and \(\{j_1,\dots,j_n\}\), respectively. Let \(D^*\) be the matrix consisting of the elements of the matrix \(A_c^{(n+1)}\) of order \(n+1\), associated with \(A\), which are the minors of \(A\) such that the set of row indices contain \(\{j_1,\dots,j_n\}\) and the column indices contain \(\{i_1,\dots,i_n\}\). Then if for the spectral pair of the matrix \(D^*\) one has \((D^*)^T(D^*x)_{(q)}=\gamma^qx_{(p)}\) without a change of the uniqueness sign then \(d_n(AB^m_p,l^m_q)=\lambda_n\).
