Group classification of a heterogeneous Schrödinger equation (Q1905498)

The author considers the family of Schrödinger equations \[ iq_t+ q_{xx}+ q(|q|^2- S(x))= 0 \] which arise in the study of nonlinear wave propagation in dispersive and inhomogeneous media. Using the classical Lie methods [\textit{N. Ibragimov}, Transformation groups applied to mathematical physics (Reidel 1985; Zbl 0558.53040)], the author gives a complete classification with respect to the function \(S(x)\). Solutions are given for some special choices of the function \(S(x)\).
