Depending upon the incident shock wave Mach number and the reflecting wedge angle, the shock wave reflection can be one of the following three types: a regular reflection, a von Neumann reflection or a Mach reflection. The Mach reflection can further be divided into three different types: a single Mach reflection, a transitional Mach reflection, and a double Mach reflection. Schematic illustrations of the wave configurations of these five types are shown in a figure. The reflection phenomena are reconsidered by replacing the Law-Glass assumption by models accounting for the interaction of the shock wave reflection and the shock induced flow deflection processes. The transition lines between the various reflection configurations are found to agree better with the experimental results when they were calculated using the proposed models.
