A class of finite volume schemes for scalar conservation laws in several space dimensions is introduced. Convergence for these schemes on unstructured grid is proved on the base of the concept of measure-valued solutions introduced by \textit{R. J. Diperna} [Arch. Rational Mech. Anal. 88, 223-270 (1985; Zbl 0616.35055)]. \(L^\infty\)-estimates and entropy in equalities are derived. The general results are applied to the discontinuous Galerkin method due to \textit{B. Cockburn, S. Hou} and \textit{C.-W. Shu} [Math. Comput. 54, No. 190, 545-581 (1990; Zbl 0695.65066)].
