Let \((X, \partial X)\) be a compact \(C^1\)-manifold with boundary in \(\mathbb{C}^n\), where \(X\) is a complex manifold, \(\dim X = p > 1\). Assume: (1) \(\partial X\) is a (smooth) real algebraic manifold, or (2) \(\partial X \subset M\), where \(M \subset \mathbb{C}^n\) is a (smooth) real algebraic manifold, which is the generating manifold of CR dimension \(p - 1\) at each point of \(\partial X\). The author proves that in either case \(X\) is contained in some complex \(p\)-dimensional algebraic manifold in \(\mathbb{C}^n\). He gives an example that the assumption \(p>1\) is essential in part (2).
