    This is part II of the author's work on Selberg's inequality in arithmetic progressions [Part I, in New Trends Probab. Stat. 2, 103-110 (1992; Zbl 0774.11053)]. The main result of the paper (Theorem 3) is an asymptotic formula for the summatory function of \(\psi^*_{r, k} (x/n; q, \ell/n)\), where \[ \begin{aligned} \psi^*_{r,k} (x; q, \ell) &= \sum _{\substack{ n\leq x\\ n\equiv \ell \pmod q }} \Lambda^*_{r, k} (n), \qquad \Lambda^*_{r, k} (n)= \sum_{d\delta =n} \mu^*_r (d) \log^k \delta \qquad (k,r\geq 1),\\ \mu^*_r (n) &= \begin{cases} 1 &\text{ if } n=1\\ 0 &\text{ if } \exists p: p^{r+1} |n,\\ (-1)^{\Omega (n)} &\text{ if } p^\alpha |n\Rightarrow \alpha\leq r. \end{cases} \end{aligned} \] Note that \(\mu^*_1 (n)= \mu (n)\), the classical Möbius function and \(\Lambda^*_{1,1} (n)= \Lambda (n)\), the classical von Mangoldt function. The proofs are elementary, but elaborate.
