The question on necessary and sufficient condition for the condensability of a space in an arbitrary metric space is investigated. The result, presented in this paper, is obtained from an attempt to construct an example of two topological spaces which are splittable on the class of all metric spaces, the topological product of which being not of this kind. Theorem: A topological space \(X\) condenses on a metric space \(Y\) iff its product with an arbitrary metric space splits over the class of all metric spaces.
