On a smooth oriented four-dimensional manifold \(X\) with metric \(g\), the group of orientation preserving conformal transformations is the symmetry group of a conformal (self-dual) class. If, in particular, \((X, g)\) is compact conformally flat and admits such a group \(C^+(X, [g])\) which contains \(U(1)\times U(1)\), then it can be proved that \((X, g)\) is either conformally equivalent to either the Euclidean sphere or the Hopf manifold \(S^1\times S^3\). If the compact \((X, g)\) admits a complex structure \(J\) so that \((X, g, J)\) is an anti-self-dual Hermitian structure with \(\dim C^+(X, [g])\geq 2\), then the structure is, up to a finite covering, conformally equivalent to either (i) a complex flat torus, (ii) the product of a sphere and a Riemann surface of genus at least 2 with a metric of constant curvature, or (iii) the Hopf manifold expressed as \(\mathbb{C}^2\backslash \{0\}/\Gamma\), where \(\Gamma\) is generated by the action \((z_1, z_2)\to (\lambda z_1, \lambda z_2)\), \(|\lambda|\neq 0\), and with the Vaisman metric given by \(ds^2= 4(dz_1 d\overline z_1+ dz_2 d\overline z_2)/(z_1 \overline z_1+ z_2 \overline z_2)\).
