Let \(C(T)\) be the ring of all continuous bounded real-valued functions on a given Tikhonov space \(T\). Then \(C(T)\) is isomorphic to the ring \(C(\beta T)\) of continuous real-valued functions on the Čech-Stone compactification \(\beta T\) of \(T\), and hence \(C(T) \) is a \(c\)-ring. There are many natural extensions of a \(c\)-ring \(C(T)\), for example, the rings \(B(T)\), \(R_\mu (T)\), \(L_\mu (T)\), \(UM (T)\) of Baire measurable, Riemann measurable, Lebesgue measurable and universally measurable functions on the space \(T\), resp. It is known that all these extensions of \(C(T)\) are \(c\)-rings. The author studies the relations between the space \(T\) and the corresponding compact space \(K\) for which \(C(K)\) is isomorphic to one of the classic extensions of \(C(T)\).
