The authors proposed a six-parameter anisotropic yield surface, quadratical with respect to the stress tensor, for a material with prescribed mutually orthogonal axes of anisotropy which remain unchanged during the loading process, by introducing the so-called strength parameters of the material. The general form of the anisotropic yield function can be reduced to the yield function for isotropic, pressure-dependent material, i.e. to von Mises yield function, and to Tresca yield function -- under plane stress state only. By imposing suitable conditions on the parameters, a pressure-dependent yield criterion for orthotropic materials as well as the criterion for transversely isotropic composites can be also derived from the general one. In order to provide experimental validity, a numerical simulation is done to evaluate the parameters and to compare experimental and model results.
