The author introduces and studies the concept of a (weakly) co-regular quasi-uniformity. For a quasi-uniform space, by \(^f {\mathcal C}\) let us denote the collection of those Cauchy filter pairs whose first member is fixed; similarly \(^p {\mathcal C}\) consists of the Cauchy filter pairs whose first member is a point-filter. A quasi-uniformity is called weakly co-regular provided that the elements of \(^f {\mathcal C}\) (equivalently, \(^p {\mathcal C})\) are weakly concentrated. Clearly, any locally quiet and any uniformly regular quasi-uniformity is weakly co-regular. (A quasi-uniformity is said to be locally quiet if each Cauchy filter pair is weakly concentrated. It is known that a quasi-uniformity is uniformly regular iff \(^f {\mathcal C}\) (equivalently, \(^p {\mathcal C})\) is uniformly weakly concentrated.) Let us cite four typical results obtained by the author: (1) A quasi-uniformity is doubly weakly co-regular iff the convergent filter pairs are weakly concentrated. (2) Any locally quiet doubly co-stable quasi-uniformity is quiet. (3) Any doubly weakly co-regular \(D\)-complete quasi-uniformity is locally quiet. (4) A \(D\)-complete doubly weakly co-regular quasi-uniformity is co-stable iff it is point-symmetric. (A quasi-uniformity is said to be co-stable provided that each co-\(D\)-Cauchy filter is stable.) The author calls a quasi-uniformity \({\mathcal U}\) co-regular provided that for each \(U \in {\mathcal U}\) and all \(z \in X\) there exists \(V \in {\mathcal U}\) such that for all \(x \in X\), \((z \in \text{cl}^1 V(x)\) implies that \(z \in U(x)) \). Note that each uniformly regular quasi-uniformity is co-regular and that each co-regular quasi-uniformity is weakly co-regular. A quasi-uniformity is shown to be doubly co-regular iff for each point \(x\), the filter pairs converging to \(x\) are uniformly weakly concentrated. Moreover the following generalization of uniform local symmetry is investigated. A quasi-uniformity \({\mathcal U}\) is called locally co-symmetric if for any \(U \in {\mathcal U}\) there are \(V_y \in {\mathcal U}\) \((y \in X)\) such that \(xUz\) whenever \(V_x (z) \cap V_z (x) \neq \emptyset\). It is observed that each locally co-symmetric quasi-uniformity is point-symmetric and co-regular. The paper contains also some remarks about quasi-uniformities, (which are called piecewise quiet), having the property that the filter pairs finer than an arbitrary Cauchy filter pair are uniformly weakly concentrated.
