The article presents an extended version of the earlier work by the same authors ``Variable states of continual relay systems'' [Russ Acad. Sci., Dokl., Math. 47, No. 3, 513-517 (1993); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk, Ross. Akad Nauk 330, No. 4, 427-429 (1993; Zbl 0819.93006)], where the principal results were announced without proofs. The systems under consideration are composed of a continuum of individual relay systems. They function in such a way that continuously with respect to time, a common vector input generates a continuous scalar input at each individual relay. The family of all individual relay systems is parametrized. The state of each relay is characterized by the state variable which besides the initial value, may take only the values \(+ 1\) or \(- 1\). The dynamics of each variable is given by a bang-bang law. Altogether, this defines input-state and input-output operators which characterize the performance of the whole system. It is important that the input-output transformation preserves measurability of the state variables for all parameters. It is obtained that the systems under consideration do have this property. Moreover, it is also proved that both input-state and input-output operators are continuous and estimates of sensitivity are derived.
