    Let \(T\) be a closed positive current on the polydisk \(\Delta\) of \(\mathbb{C}^n = \mathbb{C}^k \times \mathbb{C}^{n - k}\), and \(\pi : \Delta \to \mathbb{C}^k\) the projection \(\pi (z', z'') = z'\). We define the current \(\langle T, \pi, 0 \rangle\) as the limit, as \(\varepsilon \to 0\) of \(T \wedge \pi^* (\chi_\varepsilon)\), provided the limit exists, where \(\chi_\varepsilon (z') = \varepsilon^{-2k} \chi (\varepsilon^{-1} z') \beta'{}^k\), and \(\beta' = (i/2) \partial \overline \partial |z' |^2\), \(\chi\) is a fixed \(C^\infty\) function on \(\mathbb{C}^k\) with compact support such that \(\int \chi \beta'{}^k = 1\). We show that, under some natural conditions, the ``slice'' \(\langle T, \pi, 0 \rangle\) exists and coincide with the current \((i/ \pi) \partial \overline \partial [\eta \alpha^{k - 1} \wedge T]\), where \(\eta = \log |z' |\) and \(\alpha = (i/ \pi) \partial \overline \partial \eta\). This description of the slice \(\langle T, \pi, 0 \rangle\) is related to existence of the limit \((h_r)_\# T\), as \(r \to + \infty\), where \(h_r (z', z'') = (rz',z'')\).
