Let \(\mu\) be a nonnegative Radon measure in an open set \(\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^n\) and define \[ W^{1, r}_\mu(\Omega)= \{u\in BV(\Omega): |Du|\ll \mu,\;|Du|\in L^r(\mu)\},\quad 1\leq r< +\infty. \] It is not hard to see that \(W^{1, r}_\mu(\Omega)\), endowed with the norm \[ |u|= \int_\Omega |u|dx+ \Biggl( \int_\Omega \Biggl|{Du\over \mu} \Biggr|^r d\mu\Biggr)^{1/r}, \] is a Banach space and that the embedding in \(L^1_{\text{loc}}(\Omega)\) is compact. Moreover, if \(\mu\) is equal to the Lebesgue measure in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and \(\partial\Omega\) is sufficiently smooth, this space coincides with \(W^{1, r}(\Omega)\). In the paper it is proved that the functional \[ F(u)= \int_\Omega f\Biggl({Du\over \mu} \Biggr)d\mu \] is lower semicontinuous in \(W^{1, r}_\mu(\Omega, \mathbb{R}^k)\) with respect to the topology \(L^1_{\text{loc}}(\Omega, \mathbb{R}^k)\). The assumptions on \(f\) are the quasiconvexity and an \(r\)-growth condition from below and from above. This result is an extension of the Acerbi-Fusco lower-semicontinuity theorem to functionals defined on \(W^{1, r}_\mu(\Omega, \mathbb{R}^k)\).
