Planar differential delay equations are studied. Existence of an infinite sequence of local Hopf bifurcations of the periodic solutions of such equations is proved. The main global result is in proving the existence of an unbounded continuum of slowly spiralling periodic solutions. Some exponential estimates on the growth of the solutions of the planar equation are given as well.
