Using the Boussinesq approximation, the paper discusses the effect of a temperature-dependent viscosity on mixed convection boundary layer flow over an isothermal vertical semi-infinite flat plate. It is assumed that the density of the fluid is an inverse linear function of temperature. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations by the local similarity method. These equations are then solved iteratively by a finite difference method with central differencing and a tridiagonal matrix. Numerical calculations are carried out for various values of dimensionless parameters, which include the Prandtl number, a mixed convection parameter, and a viscosity/temperature parameter. The main results are presented graphically.
